Tuya Smart Switch Manufacturer — WiFi and Zigbee Switch OEM/ODM

A Tuya smart switch manufacturer produces the physical switch, meaning the PCB, relay, faceplate and power supply, and integrates the Tuya Wi-Fi or Zigbee module so the finished unit pairs directly with the Tuya ecosystem. Xingliao has shipped Tuya switches since 2014 and keeps 172 mass-production platforms across 16 categories.
A Tuya smart switch is a wall switch that connects to the Tuya IoT platform, so your brand's customers control their lights from the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app, by voice through Alexa and Google Assistant, or by touching the glass panel as they always have. XingLiao builds these switches in Shenzhen for brands, distributors and project contractors who need their own name on the product rather than a resold commodity.
Two things matter when you source a Tuya switch. The first is the wiring: whether your market's homes have a neutral wire in the switch box. The second is the platform relationship: whether your supplier is a real Tuya partner with access to the module firmware, or simply buying Tuya-compatible modules on the open market and hoping they keep working after the next Tuya cloud update. XingLiao is the former — we integrate Tuya modules at the board level and ship with the platform credentials already provisioned, so your customers pair the switch on first power-up instead of troubleshooting a QR code that never scans.
The table below is the actual build envelope of our Tuya switch families. Every line can be adjusted for a private-label programme; the point of publishing it is that these are the numbers our existing tooling already supports, so a change does not automatically mean new tooling.
| Parameter | Standard build | Notes for private label |
|---|---|---|
| Wireless | Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz, Tuya module; Zigbee 3.0 variant available | Zigbee versions need a hub; we supply matching gateways |
| Gang count | 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 gang | 4-gang EU and 3-gang US are the most common stocking choices |
| Panel size | EU 86×86 mm, UK 86×86 mm, US 120×74 mm | Glass, PC, or brushed metal frame |
| Wiring | Neutral + live, or no-neutral (single-fire) version | Specify at RFQ; no-neutral needs a different board |
| Load | 3 A to 40 A depending on model | 40 A versions exist for air-conditioner and water-heater circuits |
| Panel finish | Tempered glass, 2.5D curved, matte, mirrored | Colour and logo printing from 500 pcs |
| Control | Touch, app, voice, and optional RF remote | Wave-to-control (gesture) variants available |
| Scenes | Schedules, countdown, group control, scenario linkage | Works with other Tuya devices in the same account |
| Backlight | Soft indicator, switchable in app | Can be disabled for bedroom markets |
| Warranty | 1 year, lifetime technical support | Extended terms negotiable for project volumes |
This is the decision that most often goes wrong, and it is not a technical question — it is a question about who installs the product.
Wi-Fi switches connect straight to the home router. They are the right choice for retrofit markets: the electrician replaces one switch, the homeowner downloads the app, and it works. No hub, no extra SKU, no extra support call. If your customers are buying one or two switches online to try smart home for the first time, Wi-Fi is the lower-friction product and generates fewer returns.
Zigbee 3.0 switches need a gateway, but they form a mesh that keeps working when the internet drops, and they do not occupy a router slot for every device. They are the right choice for whole-home projects, hotels, and apartment blocks where a single hub will serve dozens of devices and where the installer is a professional. The commercial catch is that you must stock the hub too — which is why we build matching Zigbee gateways and can ship them as a kit.
If you are unsure, the practical answer for most distributors is to launch Wi-Fi first, then add a Zigbee line once you have pull-through. Both run on the same app account, so the customer's investment is not wasted.
Private label on a Tuya switch goes further than most buyers expect. At the entry level — 500 pieces per colour for a standard model — you get your logo on the panel, your artwork on the retail box, and your brand name in the app's device list. The Tuya platform supports OEM branding, so the end customer can see your company name rather than the factory's.
Full ODM work starts at roughly 3,000 to 5,000 pieces, because that is the point where new tooling pays for itself. At that level you can change the panel shape, the frame material, the gang layout, the LED behaviour, and the firmware feature set. Tooling takes 25 to 40 days; samples of an existing platform take 7 to 15 days.
Every enquiry is covered by an NDA by default. We do not publish client names or list your tooling as an open mould available to other buyers — that is the difference between a factory partner and a catalogue supplier.
Related ranges that buyers usually develop alongside a switch line: smart switch boards, smart plugs and sockets, door and window sensors, and energy monitoring plugs.
Switches are mains-wired products, and the certification requirement is not optional in any market we ship to. We support CE and RoHS for Europe, UKCA for Great Britain, FCC and UL-listed designs for the United States, CCC for China domestic sales, and PSE for Japan. Test reports from the last build are available for review during sampling; if your market needs a specific standard we have not previously built to, we will confirm feasibility before you commit to tooling rather than after.
Radio compliance matters as much as electrical safety. A Wi-Fi module that is not certified for the destination country will pass a factory test and then fail at customs, or worse, get recalled after it reaches installers. We source modules with the certifications your target market actually requires.
500 pieces per colour for a standard model with your logo and packaging. Full custom tooling — a new panel shape, frame, or firmware feature set — starts around 3,000 to 5,000 pieces.
Both are possible. Most private-label buyers start with the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app because it is free, stable, and already translated into dozens of languages. If you want your own app, we can supply a white-label build with your branding — see what is realistically customisable in an app and SDK programme before you budget for it.
It depends entirely on the housing stock in your market. European retrofit jobs usually need no-neutral (single-fire) boards; new-build and North American jobs almost always have a neutral available. Tell us the target country and the building age profile, and we will tell you which board to stock.
Seven to fifteen days for a sample built on an existing platform. New tooling takes 25 to 40 days before the first article comes off the tool.
Wi-Fi models lose remote control but keep local touch control, because the switch logic runs on the device. Zigbee models keep app control inside the home as well, since the mesh and the hub stay up without an internet connection.
Alexa and Google Assistant through the Tuya platform, with the standard Tuya skill or action. No separate hub or bridge is needed for Wi-Fi models.
Yes. Dielines, markings, manuals and barcode allocation are handled in-house. The regulatory markings required differ by market, so we build the artwork per destination rather than reusing one global box.
