A smart home automation system is the set of devices plus the hub that connects them, so switches, sensors, locks and cameras react to schedules, scenes and triggers without manual input. Xingliao, a Shenzhen manufacturer founded in 2014 with 110 staff, makes the device side of these systems and integrates them over Zigbee, Matter and Wi-Fi.

  • One supplier: switches, sensors, locks, cameras and gateways
  • Interoperability: Zigbee 3.0 and Matter
  • Logic: scene and automation rules configured in the app
  • Support: NDA by default, 1 year warranty, lifetime support

Xingliao manufactures smart home automation systems for overseas brands, system integrators and property developers. A smart home automation system connects lighting, sockets, door entry, cameras and sensors to one controller, so they operate together through scenes and schedules rather than as separate gadgets — supplied under your own brand.

What Goes Into a Smart Home Automation System

  • Gateway or hub — the controller that connects Zigbee and nearby devices to the internet and keeps automations running even while the router is busy.
  • Smart switches and switch boards — wall-plate control for lighting and appliances.
  • Smart plugs and sockets — to bring existing appliances and lamps into scenes without rewiring.
  • Sensors — motion, door and window contact, temperature and humidity, acting as the triggers for automations.
  • Door entry — video doorbells and intercom systems with indoor monitors.
  • Cameras — indoor and outdoor units for verification and recording.

Why the Gateway Matters

In a real installation the gateway is what makes the difference between a pile of gadgets and a working system. Zigbee devices form a low-power mesh, so each powered unit helps relay traffic for the others, which keeps commands reliable at the far end of a house or across several floors. It also means automations continue locally even when the internet drops.

Scenes Buyers Actually Commission

  • Coming home — the door contact or a smart lock triggers lighting, cools the room, and switches on selected sockets.
  • Away — one command cuts every non-essential circuit, arms the sensors, and keeps selected cameras recording.
  • Good night — lighting steps down, sockets in unused rooms switch off, and the door-entry monitor stays live.
  • Energy management — schedules and power-monitoring sockets cut standby drain in apartments and rental units.
  • Care and accessibility — motion-triggered lighting at night, useful in assisted living and family homes.

Who We Supply

  • Distributors and private-label owners building a range across several categories under one brand.
  • System integrators delivering apartment blocks, villas and hotel floors where reliability matters more than gadgets.
  • Property developers specifying a matched set of devices before handover.
  • Retail brands entering smart home through one category and extending later.

One App Across the Whole System

Because every device in the range runs on the same platform, your customers install one app, pair once, and add categories later without retraining. That is usually the deciding factor for distributors comparing several suppliers.

OEM and ODM

Standard configurations start from 500 pieces per model, covering logo application, branded retail packaging and manuals, firmware details such as boot logo and default scenes, and — where volume justifies it — app-side customisation. Full ODM programmes cover enclosure and electronics development.

Certifications

CE, FCC and RoHS documentation are provided as standard, and additional market-specific approvals can be arranged for volume programmes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a gateway?

Wi-Fi devices connect directly to the router, so a starter setup of plugs and switches can run without one. A gateway becomes worthwhile past roughly a dozen devices, or whenever you want Zigbee sensors — see the gateway range for what the hub actually does.

Does automation still work without internet?

Yes for local scenes, which run on the hub rather than in the cloud: schedules, sensor-triggered lighting and button scenes keep working through an outage. Remote access from outside the building and voice assistants need a connection.

What does a typical system include?

For an apartment: a hub, switches for the main lighting circuits, two or three sensors, a door contact, and either a video doorbell or an intercom. For a house, add curtain motors and outdoor plugs. The right starting point depends on whether the property is being built or retrofitted.

Can I add devices I already own?

Partly. Matter devices join directly, and existing Zigbee fleets can be exposed through a Matter bridge. Older RF and infrared equipment can be brought in through a protocol bridge, though those devices cannot report state.

Which voice assistants are supported?

Alexa and Google Home on our standard platforms, with Apple Home via Matter on selected devices. Confirm at specification, since voice support is platform-specific rather than universal.

New build or retrofit — does it change the product?

Yes. New build can cable for mains-powered switches and motors, which is more reliable and cheaper per point. Retrofit favours battery sensors, Wi-Fi devices and switches that fit existing back boxes, with no new wiring.

Can the system be expanded later?

Yes, which is the main reason to pick a hub-based platform over standalone Wi-Fi devices. Scenes stay on the hub and new devices join them, so a customer can start with lighting and add sensors or door entry afterwards.

What is the minimum order quantity?

500 pieces per model with your branding, and custom firmware or tooling from roughly 3,000 to 5,000 pieces. Most distributors start with switches plus a hub and expand the range once the app is proven in their market.
